Rio Grande

The Rio Grande is not so "grande" in the summer but has recovered quite well since the last rains. We've been training Boy to fetch tennis balls and as a Spanish Water Dog he's particulary good at chasing them in the river.

Steinar & Leif anniversay

We were invited to a very special celebration: 30 years of love of Steinar and Leif.

As you've guessed they are from Scandinavia. Norway to be precise. Through our neighbours Birgit and Oystein we've met quite a few vikings in the area and I must say we're enjoying their company!

Food was North African though... for starters lovely red pepper hummous dip with crudités and quails eggs dipped in sesame seeds, koriander and pimiento. Main course: lamb tajine with couscous. Talking about integration!

One of my wishes came true last week: IKEA opened in Málaga.


For me BAUHAUS has always been associated with a German Art School in Weimar in the second decade of the 20th century. I believe that they have expanded to DIY now. El especialista para su casa, taller y jardin (the specialist for your house, workshop and garden)

Soooo sorry, I haven't updated the blog for quite a while. There is lot's of stuff that I will try to post on the right dates so scroll down to see them. (Untill august 25...that's when I stopped last time)

But first... the sun is shining and it's nice and warm: gardening time!
We've removed some of the agaves from the front garden: they were too happy there and started to overcrowd the rest of the plants. I'll put a couple in big pots and some have been replaced further up the road as a natural defence of our terrain (they are VERY prickly!).

As the weather has become more agreeable now in November we're continuing the paint-the-house project. Today the road side of the house...
I'm on a scaffold about 2 meters high, am 1.76 meter myself and have long arms and the pole I'm holding is 4 meters long. This combination only just reaches to the top of the wall.

Koen 1 year old

My favorite nephew Koen had his first birthday on the 1st of november.
I was a day late but in time to see him walking and dancing around like a small chinese tiger: GO KOEN GO!
